Description

This site is an informational portal for informal trail runs in the mountains of New Mexico, Southern Colorado, and West (far far west) Texas.

The runs are informal, small-group activities intended to encourage camaraderie rather than competition. There is no sponsoring organization, just a loose-knit group of interested trail runners who enjoy running trails across the landscape of New Mexico (and adjacent parts of Colorado and Texas).

The purpose of this website is to provide coordination and information for those interested in joining the runs.

NOTE: Please contact the Race Directors beforehand of your plans to attend, or you may show up at the start alone.

Watermelon run this Saturday

Just a reminder that the Watermelon run is this Saturday. Deb and I can't make it on Saturday, but may run it on Sunday around 10am.

The following is what Andrea posted yesterday in an email:

********************************************

Hi everyone!

Please feel free to forward this info to other trailrunning addicts who might be interested in a good 5-6+ hours on the trail this Saturday. :-)

LOCATION:  The farthest possible Pino-side parking lot of the loop-de-loop of the Elena Gallegos Picnic Area.  On the map it’s the little START arrow.  There are bathrooms there.  Bring $3 in cash to pay for parking (it's either 2 or 3 so don't be short).

HERE IS THE START TIME: 6:30am (with recent temps I want folks to finish early!) - don't worry, there will be light.

HERE IS WHAT YOU GET AT THE FINISH: nothing (guaranteed, that is – I will have water and usually have a snack for y'all but honestly it depends on how busy my week is)

HERE IS WHAT YOU GET FOR FINISHING: a grin, a "good job!", and possibly a sunburn.

Still interested? See ya at 6:20 for a quick briefing before you head out!
